The Rising Costs of Noise Pollution

The Bordentown Environmental Commission will present an Earth Talk discussion on the growing problems related to Noise Pollution.

The presentation is set for 7 p.m., June 25, at Old City Hall, 11 Crosswicks Street, and will be presented by  Bordentown City based journalist, researcher, and educator Dan Aubrey. Dan is also a former editor and writer of the U.S 1 Newspaper.

The talk will explore the creation of the Noise Control Act on both the federal and state level and information on how noise affects health, education, crime, community, and economics.

In addition to interviewing prominent noise experts and reporting on the subject, Aubrey has a Community Noise Enforcement Certificate from the Rutgers University’s Noise Technical Assistance Center, Department of Environmental Sciences. The center partners with the State of New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection to train officials and community members on problems related to noise, how to collect data, and how to legally address noise problems.
